The enchanting modern classic from Disney’s  Frozen Jr., is based on the 2018 Broadway musical, and brings Elsa, Anna, and the magical land of Arendelle to life, onstage. The show features all of the memorable songs from the animated film, with music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, plus five new songs written for the Broadway production.

A story of true love and acceptance between sisters, Frozen Jr. expands upon the emotional relationship and journey between Princesses Anna and Elsa. When faced with danger, the two discover their hidden potential and the powerful bond of sisterhood. With a cast of beloved characters and loaded with magic, adventure, and plenty of humor, Frozen Jr. is sure to thaw even the coldest heart!

Director

Rebecca Douglas has been involved in community theater for thirty years!  Some of her local credits include: ACT’s Annie as Grace Ferrell, Big Fish as Josephine, Shrek as the Witch, Avenue Q as Lucy and Mrs. T., Thoroughly Modern Millie as Alice, Meet Me in St. Louis as Anna Smith, The Music Man as Eulalie Shinn, and Hello, Dolly! as Ernestina Money.   She also directed The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Seussical Jr., Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka Jr., The Wizard of Oz, Once On This Island Jr. and At First Sight, and served as vocal director for The Wizard of Oz, Man of La Mancha, Meet Me in St. Louis, and Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, as assistant director for Treasure Island and Excalibur! The Story of Young King Arthur and as stage manager for Shakespeare for Kids.  She also performed in On the Verge and Annie Get Your Gun at CCT, An Adult Evening of Shel Silverstein with Pipe Dream Theatre, Majestic Eight and The Little Mermaid with the Majestic Theatre.  She has also directed a number of shows for CCT and Majestic Education.  She is the Musical Director for Jefferson Elementary School’s Spring Musical in Corvallis.  She is co-directing  in addition to the summer camp program.

The Dinner Party

The Dinner Party is the 31st play by Neil Simon. The action revolves around a French dinner party that is hilariously chaotic. Six people, who do not know one another, have been invited to dine in a fancy Parisian restaurant. There is an air of mystery in this comedic play, because the diners do not know why they have been brought together. As it turns out, the dinner is about their damaged relationships and whether or not they can reconcile.

Director

Shauna Kiefiuk has been involved with ACT since 2002. Previously, she has directed The Unexpected Guest, Rabbit Hole, The Butler Did ItThe Odd Couple and Independence. Shauna has been onstage in several shows as well as musicals. She was the assistant director for Fat PigHay FeverThe Game’s Afoot and A Little Piece of Heaven. Shauna also serves on the ACT Board.

Fly Babies

1943 – WWII is raging. Five young American women, all qualified pilots, lend their skills to the newly-created Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASPs): Dotty, the wide-eyed farm girl; Peggy, the spoiled heiress; Pauline, the seasoned barnstormer; Hazel, the Asian-American who has already witnessed the horrors of war; and Mazy, the African-American who is fighting her own war against prejudice. All five come together on the desolate plains of west Texas, where they experience the challenge, the triumphs, and the tragedies of serving their country on the home front. A sequel to Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice set two years after the novel ends, Miss Bennet continues the story, only this time with bookish middle-sister Mary as its unlikely heroine. Mary is growing tired of her role as dutiful middle sister in the face of her siblings’ romantic escapades. When the family gathers for Christmas at Pemberley, an unexpected guest sparks Mary’s hopes for independence, an intellectual match, and possibly even love.

Johanna Spencer first directed Nickel and Dimed at Albany Civic Theater in July 2008. She has directed and appeared in many other productions at Albany Civic Theater in addition to adapting a couple of radio plays for ACT during the COVID-19 pandemic. She has been acting and directing in the mid-valley since 1982 and is a graduate of the Oregon State University theater program. She resides in Albany with her spouse, Rus Roberts and is semi-retired after 35 years with the federal government.

Dracula

Lucy Seward, whose father is the doctor in charge of an English sanitarium, has been attacked by some mysterious illness. Dr. Van Helsing, a specialist, believes that the girl is a victim of a vampire, a sort of ghost that goes about at night sucking blood from its victims. The vampire is at last found to be a certain Count Dracula, whose ghost is finally laid to rest in a striking and novel manner. The play is appropriate for all ages.

Kayla has been volunteering at ACT since 2007. This is Kayla’s directorial debut. Kayla was the assistant director for The Odd Couple, The Butler Did It, and The Unexpected Guest. She is well known for her makeup designs in shows such as The Addams Family, Sweeney Todd, Shrek, Young Frankenstein, Man of La Mancha, etc. Kayla has also appeared on stage in Fat Pig, Independence, Fawlty Towers, Thoroughly Modern Millie, A Love Affair, Love at First Sight, and Measure for Measure. Kayla lives in Lebanon with her husband Josh and their two cats.

A murder mystery and treasure hunt, The Secret of Chimneys is one of Agatha Christie’s early thrillers. A young drifter finds more than he bargained for when he agrees to deliver a parcel to an English country house. Little did Anthony Cade suspect that a simple errand on behalf of a friend would make him the center piece of a murderous international conspiracy. Someone would stop at nothing to prevent the monarchy being restored in faraway Herzoslovakia. The combined forces of Scotland Yard and the French Surete can do no better than go in circles – until the final murder at Chimneys, the great country estate that yields up an amazing secret.
