Conversation with Steven Peros!

Steven Peros, writer and director for film, television, and theater, a classic cinema journalist and historian, as well as an author of graphic novels, joins us at Albany Civic Theater on Saturday, May 18th from 2:00pm – 3:00pm to share about his career in writing. The conversation will be hosted by Casper Oliver, founder and co-head of Thesperience Productions, local Willamette Valley queer activist, and an award winning script writer for the Podcast series, Jar of Rebuke. This is not a ticketed event, however, seating will be available on a first-come, first served basis. There will be 15 minutes saved at the end of the interview for audience questions, and Steven will be available afterwards for a book signing in the lobby.
 
Steven’s television and film writing credits include The Cat’s Meow, which was directed by Peter Bogdanovich and starred Kirsten Dunst; AMC’s Emmy-winning series, The Lot; Disney’s Around the World in 80 Days, starring Jackie Chan and Steve Coogan; Lifetime’s A Country Christmas Story, starring Dolly Parton. His directing credits include Footprints and The Undying. Steven has written two plays for the stage: Karlaboy and The Cat’s Meow, which was later adapted into the film, and he is currently writing the book and lyrics for a stage musical adaptation as well. Steven currently has two graphic novel series he has written: Stoker & Wells, a trilogy, and Shi, based on Billy Tucci’s character from the 1990s. Steven’s historical commentary can be found on blu-rays for: Miss Sadie Thompson, starring Rita Hayworth; Hush… Hush Sweet Charlotte, with Bette Davis; and Hound of the Baskervilles. He is also co-editor and contributor to Giant Bug Cinema, and more recently, Giant Beast Cinema, which reached Amazon’s top 10 Bestsellers List for “Horror Movie Books”.
