Be prepared to sing a short section of a song that accentuates your vocal ability. Make sure to pick a song that is in your vocal range.  Do not pick a song from this show but a song that is from a similar genre. You must bring your own sheet music.  Musical Director will also do a range scale with you after your vocal audition.

Dress comfortably and be ready to also do a dance/movement piece. Wear appropriate shoes! No sandals, bare feet, heels (Character shoes are fine). Wear appropriate clothing for movement.

Show up early to fill out your audition form and settle in. Audition form may be downloaded here to complete in advance.  Doors will open 45 minutes before auditions. Times noted below:
7:00 pm - Sunday, January 21, 2018 – Annie’s/Orphans: Vocals/Dance/Readings NOTE: Call backs for this group will be Tuesday January 23 at 7:30 pm
7:30 pm – Monday, January 22 – Teens/Adults – Vocals and Dance
7:30 pm – Tuesday, January 23 – Readings (including Annie/Orphan callbacks)
7:30 pm – Wednesday, January 24th – Callbacks (Casting to be posted by 11:00 pm)
7:00 pm – Thursday, January 25th – Read through/costume measurements (Location TBA)

With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone's hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. She is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage that is run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan. With the help of the other girls in the Orphanage, Annie escapes to the wondrous world of NYC. In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan's evil machinations... and even befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt! She finds a new home and family in billionaire, Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy.

Annie
A street-wise orphan; she is eventually taken in by Oliver Warbucks. Spunky, friendly,  with a big-voice.

A successful businessman with a warm heart. Rich, stiff-collared, and bullish.

Faithful secretary to Mr. Oliver Warbucks. Poised, sweet, and gentle.

Orphans (10 – 12 to be cast)
The other girls in the orphanage with Annie. These girls are gritty, neglected and vulnerable, yet basically honest and potentially loveable. Includes Molly, Kate, Tessie, Pepper, July, and Duffy.

Age: 6 to 16 (We are flexible on this as long as you “look” the ages noted)

Miss Hannigan
The orphanage matron who hates children but is fond of liquor. Very disillusioned, bitter, and cold. Must have natural physical comic timing.

Rooster
Miss Hannigan's no-good brother looking for a quick buck. A sleazy, slick con man. Physical comedy a must!

Rooster's girlfriend, who is also out for a quick buck. She is considered to be a floozy and bimbo. Physical comedy a must!

The ultimate radio personality. He helps Annie by broadcasting about the search for her birth parents.

Director:

Christi E. Sears has a string of hit musicals and plays to her credit, including: Big Fish, Shrek, Young Frankenstein, Avenue Q, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Curtains, Steel Magnolias, The Producers, The Music Man, Hello, Dolly!, The Rocky Horror Show, Pirates of Penzance, Into the Woods, You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Bell, Book and Candle, Auntie Mame, and Greater Tuna at ACT. Christi also directed at CCT: Cinderella, Damn Yankees, and Little Shop of Horrors. A long-time administrative member at ACT, Christi has served three terms as president and two terms as treasurer. She currently is our costume manager. Christi resides in Albany and  has worked for over 22 years as the Accounting Manager at Palm Harbor Homes.
